Today we started Module B for English Language Arts & Social Studies. I added the standards that we are working on below. We will continue working on routines and procedures. Students can earn owl tickets for positive behavior. On Thursdays, we count them to see if we have ten. If they do, they can sign up for a reward. The rewards are based off of the five love languages for kids. The choices are video, lunch with the counselor, prize, announcement helper or high five line. Today we earned two feathers for being so quiet in the hallway:) When we earn ten owl feathers we can choose a class reward such as popcorn party, short video, extra recess or extra computer lab time. The kids are doing a great job of building their reading stamina in the classroom. I've really enjoyed getting to know the kids these past few weeks and can't wait to meet with you at fall conferences next month.
We are currently implementing Epic, Seesaw and Dream box on the iPads. We are hoping to get our programs up and running for keyboarding soon to add to our daily 5 time. Tech staff are working on getting our desktop computers ready. We are still working on unit 1 for math and science. I will update unit 2 information when we start.
